Ratings on google.com VS google.co.uk

I've got my first, 1st page rankings on google.com but at the moment for the same keyword on google.co.uk i'm on the 5th page. Presumably they use the same ranking algo so is this just a temporary phenomena -- i.e. they will equalise. Or should I consider them to be completely different SE's which will post different results.

    with thanks

Also you should be hosted in the UK for best UK rankings.

i've got both the .com and .co.uk urls for my domain name -- but i've setup a redirect on the .co.uk to the .com address. The .co.uk address is not listed on google -- but as it is a mirror site i'm a bit concerned about submitting it. Should I consider putting some content and a link to the .com site on the .co.uk site, without duplicating the .com site?

You should just 301 redirect the .co.uk to the .com
