There has to be a way to measure "edu" equivalent links. My directory sites are niched for a Canadian audience, and any edu style links are going to be from universities in Canada which do not have .edu domain names but theoretically should carry the same "ranking juice" as an .edu domain in the United States.

Otherwise the only sites at the top of this list are going to be US centric sites or general directories that do not have geo specific linking issues.

I agree, but the problem is the need to make generalisations - both search engines and SEO's? Here in the UK we use .ac.uk instead of .edu. Question is, does Google really value .ac.uk links in the same way as .edu?

Google gives trusted sites high ranking value so we know that ac.uk sites get more trust. I don’t think that they would get as much as edu’s in general.

I when over my list and checked the ac.uk's the only site that it would changed much was BOTW.org, which in my opinion is has too low a ILQ rating compared to the other sites.

When I first put out ILQ I wanted to just deal with a few items everyone would agree on. If this rating system picks up acceptance then I will consider working on getting a group of well known SEO/M people that are more technical to advise me on what items to add.

I think one that is the age of the site. Another would be other types of trusted sites suck as ac.uk’s.

When I came up with this idea I checked with Aaron Wall and Rand Fishkin and got some good pointers.

I have a PR going out tomorrow morning on both PRWEB and PRNEWSWIRE and that will be interesting to see what kind of buzz that creates.

I am also working on building a distribution for SEO Firms and SEO Blogs. I have got my list of SEO Firms (over 1300 fims) done and will be sending my PR to them. I am still working on getting my SEO Blog distribution done.
