i will be arriving in the US for the first time next month. i just want to know, how do power sockets in america look like? can someone post a picture of one wall socket? i may need to buy a certain adaptor thing.
two thin piece of metal or one round and two thin, remember there is voltage different so you will need a converter. Don't burn you stuff
You are better off just buying new electronics for your stay here (how much can you need to plug in) and save them for every time you travel. You can damage some stuff even if you have an adapter
do ALL sockets look like that? i am only planning to bring a kettle, iron and my laptop (which i think provides a power cable with american sepcifications).
Yes, although I am not sure adaptars will work with a kettle and iron as they really rely on the 240v to get hot fast. Those type of electrical appliances tend to burn out an adapter fast (and it is probably cheaper to buy an iron and kettle then the adaptar)
