I have a question I have a keyword that is very very competitive, but its not drawing any traffic, and its number 9 on Google. When I was running it through adwords. it was getting over 1000 impressions every 7 minutes. to give you an idea of how many searches its getting.
If you want, you can use the Digital Point keyword tool to get an idea of how many searches per day your keyword has. It works off of the Overture tool from Yahoo. Google also has a similar tool, but you get no data as far as numbers. They only give you a bar like PR. It is part of adsense. Just goto adsense.google.com and check out the get keyword ideas link Its great for figuring out some of the things that Overture can't! I won't go into that now, but maybe in a later post. Those of you who want to can figure it out for yourself for now I guess they figured out how useful their tool is. Last night they added an image verification to the page! There must already have been some people automating the queries. A great tool for targeting your market by adsense and beyond in my opinion. Bada Bing!
well I know this keyword is bringing in traffic because adwords, and the keyword is website design. I worked very hard to get it here, lots lots lots of money
impressions not really equal to CTR so we can't really know how many clicks you got for each position.
You said your site is on 9th position for the keyword. The site I see on 9th position is websitedesignawards.com with this title - Website Design Awards - awarding progressive interactive web design Now If I go and search for web design I would be interested in Websites providing web designing services and probably might not be looking for a site that gives awards. That may explain the low traffic.. If it is not the same site you are talking about then kindly ignore this post
Are you sure? You were getting 1000 every 7 minutes (which would suggest the keyword is somewhat popular) and yet don't eget anything being ranked 9. I can't figure out how this can be. Gettting traffic from being placed 9th is not difficult as long as the search terms is relatively popular.
there is several different data centers this one is reading number 8 http://72.14.207.107/search?hl=en&q=website+design&btnG=Google+Search quite honestly from other people I've talked to right in 1-5 is where the traffic is coming in at, I know someone that had internet marketing in position 3-4, and was getting 3k plus uniques a day from it, and now there in 10, and don't even get 50 hits a day.
Wow thats an interesting read. I just know that my top 10's on google do MUCH better thanks 10 - 20 and on. Thanks for the link
