that is superb! nice! how did you manage that. you got stubmle.in nice logo by the way! but i have never though that getting such a popular domain's .in extention will be possible. i guess you have done a great job! now, cheers! and use that domain properly. nice and colorful logo, 8/10
I give it a 7. Reasons: 1. too colorful for my taste. Maybe you could limit the colors and the style. Remember K.I.S.S. 2. I noticed some jaggies. But then again maybe it'll smoothen in the final copy.
3.654 why? You asked us our opinion and it makes me think of carebear commercials. I think it's: too colorful, too girly, too lucky charms. If your audience was women, or kids, it would be perfect. I'm assuming your site is geared toward Webmasters. 70% of Webmasters are guys. Id suggest you make a logo that better targets your intended audience.
It gives a feeling of being web2.0 ish but it still needs the gloss and curves required to make it reach actual web 2.0 feel. As suggested by others it is too colourful. Very basic font has been used. Will look good on white background but might fail on litmus test if other colour backgrounds are used. Nice as a web logo but if you want to get it printed some day then it will be a difficult and costly task due to the number of colours and the shadow. Overall nice for a basic website, but not great if you really want to use it for a long term branding. For web good, but for outdoor and print media this may need something more. Just my 2 cents. Overall nice work friend. You MUST feel proud of your baby. Keeping in view the use which you have already specified I WILL GIVE IT 7/10 eNJOY !!
Andy, next time I suggest you write a paragraph or two explaining why you did it. For example, maybe colors do have an explanation and we are judging the logo by tastes, not logically and with reason. Make people read and then, when they see it, boom! (I know thou, that the logo isn't going to be around with an explanation attached to it). But this works. 6/10
5/10. If it was a kids website and we saw the website with the logo installed I would probaly give 8/10 because it would be really kid friendly.
Rather than rate the logo I think I'll make comments on how I'd personally improve it and what I like. Obviously it would help if we knew your target audience as that will greatly effect the design. The amount of colours aren't a problem, its fun, a little childish but rich and promotes a feel-good factor, I'd actualy consider removing the charcoal grey for another colour, perhaps pure black, dark blue or even a dark green (suggesting GO). You might even try making the stroke black for .in with white fill. If it were to go to print you'd probably have duller colours because of the limits of cmyk but once you're over 4 cols the costs are the same. The white halo is nice, so too is the reflection. The motion blur is effective too however the stars argue with the rest of the design imho. Why are they there? Are they needed? shouldn't they have better grads for the zoom effect and wouldn't the stars be better with rounded edges (as per your type). I'd actually remove them as they make your logo rather high which will probably result in a smaller logo. If you're a fan of them then perhaps make them smaller but think about the fact you have 2 different approaches to movement - the zoom of the stars compared with the motion of the blurred type. Turn dithering off to achieve better grads. Make all the text level on the baseline to achieve a more realistic reflection (note most letters with their white halo don't touch the horizon but the left hand stroke of the m and the right hand stroke of the n go beyond the horizon. OK, I give in, I'll give it 7/10 assuming its work in progress. PS: I'm surprised nobody has mentioned www.stumbleupon.com/
Following Minute's criteria, I would give 8 for Attention Grabbing 6 for Design Originality 4 for Aesthetic Pleasure rating (somewhat the logo has a colourful but childish look, please, don't find my comment offensive ) 5 for the X-Factor Anyway, my overall rating is probably somewhere around 7. Good job! Turbulence
WOW! Thanks guys, very overwhelmed with the number of responses here. A lot of mixed opinions in the crowd, I guess everyone has different tastes. Thanks everyone for commenting (I'm still reading through them), especially to @Proxicator and logodesignteam, looks like you guys spent way too long writing that critique Anyway, thanks again everyone =]
i like it but it looks like a daycare logo or something for kids. is that what you were going for. it just doesnt look professional. but i would say 6/10
7/10 .. xept for yellow; cos it has almost the same brightness as the background, so givin a little drop shadow will be, i think much better
