Rate my Social Network site.

It's a Art/Film/Writing/Music/Games Social Network, I made it with Joomla(CMS) I'm trying to learn more so there will be a ton of changes later on. What do you think? Please be honest. but in a nice way. Also what should I add or any other suggestion.

looks nice, it might look even better if you increase the excerpt length on the posts

 

It looks nice, but the domain is a bit too long. Maybe get www[dot]arata[dot]something for better SEO.

 

Domain is long, Logo is a bit too small - maybe make 'As real as they are' larger and the 'art, writing, music, video, games' in its current size.

I'd move the login to the right and not have so much space around it. Sign-in is also a bit too big for the rest of the page.

 

Design looks good and clean, but domain sucks. Get something shorter and with no or less hyphens.

 

Love it. The footer is a bit big. I think people aren't used to seeing that.

Looks good but footer is too big.. you need a logo as well. Your tag line on header doesn't look good as its not sharp.

 

I agree that you need a footer and less white colors overall, maybe a little color?

 

Hi Ameme. First of all, congratulations on the hard work! I admire your technical skills. Some comments and suggestions - I was wondering what it was about the colours you used that makes the site not present as sophisticated as it actually is. Optimistguide got it right-too much white. Try using a colour scheme. Also, you can sign-in using facebook other accounts which is excellent -kudos to you! however, the logos are too large and make your site look like one of those sites that are just soliciting clicks. I also agree with the domain name. Hyphens are tricky. Not too many people will have the patience to type that, so you end up relying on links and bookmarks. Best of luck with the growth of the site and yourself as a webmaster/developer!

 

A lot of unused space. Might try re sizing.

It's a little basic and doesn't flow too well but cool idea.

 

I thought the overall design of the site is good. It looks well planned out and is user friendly. Only criticism from me is the color scheme of the site, just found it a bit bland for the niche of the site. However, I am eager to see the new changes you will make. Best of luck with the site in the long term

Hi its not bad, but the logo is not loading for me. Also check out facebook homepage for some more ideas

 

Also in ie7 the site is loading at 'full page width' instead of it being centered

 

I think when I edit on my netbook things look much different, I'm going to make changes on my desktop. I'll tell you guys when I make changes. I really like the honest feedback.
