Here is my new one: http://www.afkay.com/forums/images/dark_vb/misc/dark_vb.gif A slightly different version of it: http://www.afkay.com/forums/images/dark_vb/misc/dark_vb22.gif I like it so far, but am open to suggestions for changes. As for the colors, I like the color scheme, so I probably won't be changing that, but I may be open to changing colors within the color scheme (changing the 'K' from orange to blue, or something). And the 'welcome to hell' quote is just an inside joke from the forums. Was planning on creating a bunch of logos that all look the same, but with a different quote on each one and have them rotate. Also, this is my old one: http://www.afkay.com/forums/2e_forest/images/2EVOLVE_forest_01.gif Tried to be 'unique' with the orange, but it was just too much orange, so now I've gone for mostly black. EDIT: one question. The background on the new logo came with my vB them. All I did was take their logo off, and put mine. Is this allowed?
The Background looks good, and ya the thing you are doing is allowed. But I suggest make the logo more interactive, it doesnt really gives the one time Game Look.
The background is most of it ok, but the letters doesn't look so good. I recommand you do do some small letter and made them more.....interactive i would say.
If its not animated, don't use gifs. jpgs and pngs are much better for this sort of thing. As for the actual banner, the background looks okay, but I don't really like the text. I would bring the blue letters closer to the orange, so it doesn't take up as much room.
Looks decent. I completely agree with YourClone. Use a png if it is not animated. No reason to use gifs except for animation.
i like this one from 3 of ur banner...but my suggestion try to make ur font ( afkay ) more creative.. Woottt!! keep on gud work
the designs are good i actually like the older one more the reason is that the newer ones scream photoshop i think the background and main element look too clustered and your too focused on effects and not color contrast, focus, and design elements just put some more thought into it and you will get a kickass logo buddy remember. effects and blending effects usually take away from a design instead of contributing to it when used excessively
a nice glow around the letters might make them more "interactive" and also go well with the spacey background theme
Thanks for the tips guys. Could someone please explain what they mean when they say 'interactive' font? Sorry, I'm not exactly sure what you guys mean by it. Or maybe some examples would help. Does it mean that the font sorta blends (or fits in) with the site and rest of the banner? Hmm.. maybe I'll try a plain background, or a very minimalistic one.
Alright.. I'm trying it without the fancy (excessive) background, and tried different fonts too: http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/6039/blackbguh4.gif What do you guys think so far? The site is about gaming, so I'm thinking of putting some text that sorta looks like a stamp going diagonally in the top left area. It feels like there is too much empty space there. Just have to find out how I would do that effect. I'm thinking it may be TOO much if I put it there, but I'll try it anyway.
Yea, I know what you mean. I'm not very good at making them. Maybe I'm better off paying someone here to do it.
