Rate my New E-Commerce site...does it look dumb?

    Hi Everyone,

    Here's my site: www.greenoproducts.com/catalog

We sell biodegradable disposable tableware to restaurants. The site's not complete yet but its pretty much 95% done. Our site designer sucks!!...it just seems they used a template and basic OS Commerce which according to them is not as flexible as I'd like it to be.

The thing is, our products are not glamorous products like shoes, clothing, watches where you can display cool images with bright colors etc...
Knowing that, what things would you suggest I change/modify/add???

    Thanks a million everyone!

I hate javascript menus (= I'd change those). Other than that it looks pretty good in my opinion.

I would also use text instead of big images (as in "sustainability" page)... but nothing to complain here. I think it was clean.

Just as an observer the site looks great, clean, crisp and not full of things you do not need.
I cannot comment on the internal part like these others but I would stay on your site if that is what I was looking for.
    Nice looking and clean.

jesus christ, get on the phone to your designers now and sack them. your sustainability page is practically criminal - making that from images. you have a really nice product there and people can trust you as you have a large phone number at the top, but this website hasnt been done properly and that is a shame.

That is one of the nicest-looking sites I have seen in quite awhile. Good job!

But I would try to sell more on tha homepage. Although many should know to buy such products, many still need a bit of prodding to take action.

And for those who don't know any better, but they may be interested, tell them why they should buy.

Keep selling on the product pages, too. Don't show just the products and the listed prices.

Other than that, very nice job.

The site design is nice and clean, however from a SE point of view you need to install SEO URLS, and a dynamic meta tags contribution, i presume you are using oscommerce?

The landing page is killer, I really like it. However, it seems that the only page that contains actual text is the "products" page. Make your designer actually take the time to put text on the pages! Don't let your designer walk all over you; you paid for a service and they have to complete it to your standards.

As others have already noted, your site is clean and simple. However, I think you can benefit in having product descriptions in your catalog. Tell why it's different from normal disposable utensils they can buy elsewhere. The pictures aren't enough because again, they look just like any other disposable utensils.

In short, you need something to let your products stand out. When you do, people are more likely to buy them.

    I hope that helps. :)

site is really neat and simple; design and colors are eye caching.
