Hi guys. I have been blogging with Wordpress since mid-March and I thought I'd have a pop at creating a theme. Here's my finished product: PlayStation Heads. It's not a conventional blog layout, and I reckon it's kinda advanced but can you guys/gals tell me what u think?

Tell me a little about color schemes and maybe some alterations to code (php and css).

    Thanks!

I'm not a Programming Guru, so can't comment on the Coding. But I think using Rounded Corner Rectangles with a Shadow in the Background would add more Life to this Page of yours. Furthermore, I think you have paid too much attention the Ads rather than the actual content. I couldn't see much. That would seriously hurt your Readers and Fan base, if any.

The design is nice and simple, I'm not a fan of dark themes but this one isn't too dark so I like it!

I think you should focus more on the content aspect of the blog rather than the advertisements and widgets. I noticed that your featured content only had 2 lines of text, and could easily become an oversight. Make that your focal point of the blog, elaborate more on it, perhaps include a thumbnail image relating to the article.

I think having the Sponsored ads in the middle of everything clutters the layout, perhaps move them towards the end or to the side even. I've found putting adsense blocks at the end of my posts gives a better return ;)

The old generic PS2 logo on the right hand side looks awful and blurry. I don't like the individual content blocks, you should contain it all in a nice background div. I'd also center the very top menu, it doesn't look good right aligned.

You might want to have a look at your validation too :p

There's a review section for these kind of threads: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=91

ok nice, it's professionally done only that it's a bit dark. Just a little adjustment though to make it livelier.

Great advice... Could you give me a little more guidance on how to add thumbnails to the posts?

Actually I was thinking of changing ad placement and i did realise it was a little intrusive.

Also, i just want to point out that there is a read more link at the end of every featured post and the homepage only shows the first paragraph.

I really do not like dark themes. It messes with my eyes and I do not think I am the only one this is a problem for.
