You'd probably get a more focused response in the Website Review forum http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23 I like the 'uncluttered' layout, but maybe you could try adding a bit more colour?
I have to agree with GingerApple. The layout is quite nice, but it's a bit boring, purely because you have only used grey and black colours. Try making it a bit more lively colour-wise and I'm sure it'll look fantastic
Obviously I don't know what the website is about, but I think this could look good with some 'glossy' oranges and greens, mixed with a bit of 'glossy' grey.
I'd have the Home link "blend in" with the gray below it, and the inactive tabs a darker shade of gray, and add some right padding so Contact isn't budged right up against the edge Also split the content into 2 columns, it's easier to read then I'd also ditch the Valid XHTML / CSS links at the bottom - although I agree it is essential to validate your work to check it works, nobody reading actually cares about it and wants to click links on it
Its not bad, a little plan but not bad. I could give you some pointers.. what graphical programs do you have?
But it would still be nice with more “warm†colours – but that is of cause just an opinion. But definitely looks like a site which is easy to find one’s way around on, so good start
I don't like the color combination that you use. The grey header make your design look dull. Another one, instead of using text for your header title, why don't you design a logo for it.
A Professional logo with some glossy effects should be good... and add another sidebar on the right side aswell. It makes the design more professional.
