I just recently created a sports forum, and decided to save myself some money and create my own banner. I am pretty new at this, so please give me all the constructive criticism possible. Please, I am begging, all suggestions are welcomed. I know I did not do a whole lot with it, but I really do not know what else to do.
Look up some tutorial videos on youtube regarding photoshop. you'd do a much better job. moreover, athletics is not just baseball
Well... seems not so coordinated with your forum. Check out these tutorials, it should have been better. http://www.tamingthebeast.net/articles4/banner-design-sizes.htm http://www.akamarketing.com/banner-design-tips.html
your image is stretched and you can hardly read letters. also it is not standard sized banner. try with some basic photoshop tutorials like how to resize cut crop image
Hey. ok this is a bad pic to strt with. i think you tinted it green, but to show you about the text, you can not read yours
i agree. the font is unreadable. just something to keep in mind: try using a white/light-colored font when the graphic is entirely dark for a bit of contrast
Okay, it was a pretty rushed project and text was not my biggest concern for now. Thanks for all the tips. Any other suggestions?
I don't like the green tint on the photo, the photo looks stretched and the text is difficult to read. I like the photo but think that you should include other sports as well and the photos should be more colorful and fun.
i'm not really liking the colors. the washed-out green and the tan font colors make it seem really faded and old. Unless of course that's the look you're going for... on the other hand, good job deciding to make it yourself - just put more time into it, read/watch more tutorials, maybe incorporate illustrator and make your own graphics
Since your image is a bit streched try to decrease the width. If not, get another image or do what I do, when you cut an image out to paste into a new banner, use the feather tool to smoothly blend the image into the background banner, which will make it perfect if your image is too small for your Banner.
Bohappy, Nice try on the "Rush" Job! I can't actually tell what you designed. Just seems to me like an image with an transparent overlay and a bit of text. I would make it more appealing. Especially if its for a banner! Greens a little too bland. (In my Opinion) You want the banner to stick out like dogs balls not giving the prospect a chance to even think about clicking on it, they just will. Put yourself in your viewers shoes. What would you click on? perhaps maybe the same image with more contrast and exposure perhaps a few highlights.?
