I am still a little new to adwords but am very confused already...lol.. I created a new campaign for Hosting I then added a bunch of groups for specific stuff like "cpanel hosting" "reseller hosting"..etc Then I made specific ads for targeting the ad group "cpanel web hosting..etc" Then I searched and found targeted keywords to add. I looked for ones with lowest competition that contained "cpanel" and "hosting" or "web hosting"..etc: The campaigns get approved but when I go to the Keywords section I get "Rarely shown due to low quality score" for all of them. At first once they are approved I get a QS of 5/10..then after about 30minutes or so many of them change to 1/10. I can't understand what I am doing wrong. I create ads for shared hosting, use a URL to my shared hosting website, and use shared hosting related keyphrases..why does this happen? Does this mean my site is being seen at all? I guess my bids may be a little low to get me at the top, but that shouldn't effect my QS correct?
If your shared hosting provider has a bad reputation, or if a million other people are also trying to advertise the same shared hosting service, it can count against you.
thanks for responding lspublish1. Our company is very new. In fact, we just recently launched and some of our pages aren't even indexed yet. Could this be the problem? Our content is completely unique, 100% written by myself, we paid to have a professional unique design done with all valid code. Of course the web hosting market is very saturated as we all know. But, I don't see a saturated market involving my personal website or ads? Could it be because some of these pages are not yet indexed in Google?
Probably not having something to do whether they're indexed in Google or not. QS is partly made up by how many would click your ad compared to other ads, competing for the same keyword. Google want to show popular ads, those that gets many clicks, if your ad has been shown several times and no one clicked it, Google will deem it "badly written" = low QS, and will move you back/down - EVEN if your bid is higher. Because it doesn't matter to Google if you so bid one million dollars per click if no one ever clicks your ad. Google want happy advertisers but also happy, returning visitors, so they will put a premium on good ads. Try to re-write your ads, make them more descriptive or to the point.
In some cases, deleting the entire campaign & recreating new works. You should try Google keyword tool.. instead of entering keyword, enter your site/page URL & see what Google thinks your site is about... this will give you a clear picture
