I think you should sell it to the previous owner first. If he's smart, he will pay you a good amount for "your troubles". He should be happy to have the opportunity to get it back.

Why should the old owner have to pay a good amount? I think he should just have to reimburse the guy for him buying the domain, or, "for your troubles", pay $100 max, but I don't think the time spent is even worth that much.

Ok, so the owner Mr. Doyle goes round and round with me asking for proof. I supply him with all the proof in the world. He jerked me around and in my opinion is being very greedy and carma will come back to him. He asked me for 1500.00 and I explained that I could not afford that. He then said 500.00 with proof of my divorce, etc. I supplied it swiftly and more than enough. I said ok, paypal me an invoice and I will pay right away.

Mr Doyle. You got lucky and got my domain that I rely on to support my family. You obviously are a crook for jerking me around and my family as well. You could have done the right thing and sold it back to me at your inflated asking price. Now, I say keep it as I only have 500.00 and thats tough to bite. What goes around comes around and carma will set with you. I dont appreciate your un gentleman like conduct and hope you are able to sleep at night knowing your devastating my family and employees that have families that survive by my business whish is already fledgling due to all the hard times that I am going through.

Best of Luck to you my friend. I will give and pay to my lawyers before you get a penny. Rest assured I will get it back. I am licensed and trademarked and will do what I have to do. Greed gets you nowhere.

    Here is my email transcript:
The reason for my delay in getting back with you is due to the fact that I have been carefully contemplating what I am going to do with this domain. During the course of our email correspondence, I have had 3 offers to purchase this domain with the best offer standing at $2,000.

Honestly, I believe it to be worth even more than that - I think you and I both know this. Although I can sympathize with you and your current situation, with all due respect, this is in fact about business. I am in business for the same reason as you and every other business owner - to make a profit. After careful consideration, I have decided not to sell the domain back to you for $500. It just doesn't make good business sense. It isn't fair that I should have to lose a substantial amount of my own money because of someone else's error/mistake.

I'm sorry but the best I can do is honor the first price I gave you which is $1,500. I feel that this price is more than fair to both of us. I can make more by selling it to someone else but I would probobly feel guilty about it. I sincerely hope that you are able to buy your domain back as I would rather have you own it instead of me or somebody else.

    Bob Doyle

Provide me with verifiable, scanned legal documents proving that you are going through a divorce and custody battle. That is all - not very difficult as I'm sure you have paper work to validate your story ie: attorney contract, divorce decree, etc.

$500 is the price WITH proof of your story ($1,000 less than my original price - my fault for doubting you)

$2,500 is the price WITHOUT proof of your story ($1,000 more than my original price - your fault for lying in the first place)

Brady, As I mentioned before, this is what I do for a living (buy and sell domains). So obviously this is not the first time I have heard a story about financial difficulties, divorce, death in the family, death of a friend, my partner's dying wish and so on. So you should understand if I have some reservations and am somewhat skeptical. But I do believe in carma - so I'll tell you what, if you can provide proof in the form of a scanned legal document which shows that you are going through a divorce and your contract with the attorney (you will most certainly have one for custody battle and divorce) I will give you your domain back for what I own it for - $500. Maybe you think this is a strange request - I certainly don't. It's all about carma after all right?

I would like nothing more than to handle this between us.

    Here is my assessment:

    1) You can file a WIPO and wait up to two months for them to make a decision - that costs $1,500 (no guarantees)

    2) Hire an attorney which would more than likely cost more than $1,500 and take even longer. Again - no guarantees.

    3) You can give up the domain - probobly not your choice, but a choice nonetheless.

    4) I can sell it back to you.

Assuming that you opt for me to sell it back to you, here is my proposition:

$1,500 - about the cost of one web design project.

I buy and sell domains for a living - that is MY livelyhood. Like you, I must feed my family and pay bills just like everyone else.

Do you think that it is fair that I should lose my time/money due to an oversight that has nothing to do with me?

    Respectfully,

    Hello,

I am the legal owner of the domain: vbwebsites.com.

Could you please be more specific as to what you are referring to when you say "resolve this"?

    Thanks,

bdmunee give the domain name back or im sure some people could do some obvious black hat spamming to get it de-indexed from google. Not good for you or the buyer.

    Brady -

If you are considering legal action (which you have said you were), you might be smart to edit your post with the emails, removing them, and finish your negotiations privately.

It can only hurt you in a legal case and I hate to see you have even more troubles.
