I am looking for reviews for Rare Birdie a website for grown up golfers.

Lots of news, articles and humour. No pimply-faced teenagers looking for thrills please :D

I am looking for feedback on design, layout and content. Let me know what you think.

    Cheers!

Excellent design and color scheme - only one concern (related to SEO) some of those article links dont look so SEO friendly..

Thanks Max Pain, I'll be implementing SES URL's shortly, using article categories and titles instead of url params, so they'll look something like this:

    feature.cfm/fid/103/golf/Marshalling_at_the_Ryder_Cup.html

Very cool design, all the features of the site are properly sectioned off; something which so many fail to do. Just a couple of things that felt a bit 'off' to me:

    - "so... what's happening", descending order for the date related stuff? i want to see the most current things first, not old stuff :0

    - the feature.cfm?=?? thing needs to change if you want search engines to find relevance in your linkage I think!

That's about it I think, good work! ;)

Have changed the "so... what's happening" to display date descending and feature links will be changing so to be Search Engine Friendly soon.

The main menu is not rendering properly in Firefox 1.5 or Opera 9. IE 6 looks like an accurate rendering.

Personally, I'm not a fan of links that don't change when hovered. I want to see an underline or something when I hover those links.

Aside from that, looks great, and best of luck with SEO and the site.

Tekime, thanks for the input - just put in a temp fix for Firefox, anyone else using IE6, 7 or Opera 9 please give me a shout if it's still not rendering properly.

    Many thanks.

The top menu could be a little bit lower perhaps. I keep clicking my Google Toolbar buttons :D

Yeah it's looking good designwise although to generate more universal appeal it might be good to have a look at implementing css design rather than tables for layout.

As you can see your site doesn't currently validate with 123 (191 total flagged items) errors with the doctype you have specified just on your home page.

Doesn't offend me! Haha. I think this is a sort of mature type site anyway.

Ooh... I see working menus and link hover colors. :)
