Slow this one and many others out there much better on speed search.

 

The slower speeds are not due to slowness of the site lol. Evertime you perform a search, all the links are checked to see whether they are working or not, via an inbuilt link checker

Same here..
I have always found that a "filename site:rapidshare.com" search works well enough. But I guess it is more convenient to use a dedicated search engine.

I built a similar rapidshare search type site, but I used Google custom search to power it, works very fast, no excessive work needs to be done by my servers, just serve up plain html!
and easy enough to add more file storage site search engines to it like megaupload, badongo, depositfiles etc.

I think they have been done to death though.. there are that many out there, the link sri posted says it all..
