First of all, i would like to know is the server to server file transfer is legal ? I have hosting account with huge space Actually i want to upload Ubuntu iso that is ubuntu CD. Its size is 700MB, it will take a whole day to upload the file to my server. Can i do that with rapidleeching ? I also have SSH access. If i can do that with SSH, what are the commands, i am new to SSH Because this will save my time. Please help me ........
Server to Server transfer is legal, if both parties agree to the transfer. Yes, you can transfer to your server using rapidleech the entire Ubuntu ISO. It should take about 20 minutes.
my hosting is shared hosting service provider is not allowing me to do so..... What i have to do ? Is there any other method ?
From where do you want the ISO to be loaded and where? Is your source a shared host or the place where you want the file to move a shared host? Please clarify.
2 simple methods for server to server transfer 1. wget - login on destination server and use wget to directly download entire iso 2. rsync - login on destination and rsync your iso man wget or man rsync will give you all details its simple and server to server usually ultra fast if good www connection by both servers
if you have SSH available use WGET like hans said or better use AXEL if you are able to install software (root)... on shared hosting you best go with the php scripts WWWFXP or RAPIDLEECH. they allow you to input any http/ftp url and fetch the file into your webspace. from there you can again upload it to some other place like an FTP or rapidshare/megaupload etc.
Who said RapidLeech is illegal? Rapidleech when used with illegal files is indeed illegal. But many a times a combined user of rapidshare and rapidleech is possible for legal files as well. Databases worth 1000s of GBs have been transferred using the script. People running large sites or large forums benefit a lot from it.
rapidleech itself is not illegal in terms of laws. its simply a transfer tool, like a ftp client is. but rapidleech is not allowed by most hosts by their TOS. but these TOS dont want rapidleech to be used all the time to transfer warez. if you only use rapidleech to backup your site from time to time or do some other stuff related to legal webcontent, they cant do nothing.
But some hosting providers do not provide server to server transfer, You guys know SMF forums, or joomla, In SMF forum, we can install new package from link that means we have to put the file name like www.xample.com/file.zip And then it transfers the file from xample.com to SMF forum's web server. THIS IS ALSO SERVER TO SERVER FILE SHARING. WELL ITS A BYPASS Same happens in joomla 1.5 ( I am using 1.5 ) Go to Extensions, install There is a option to install file from another server. We have to put the link there. THIS IS ALSO BYPASS.
Rapidleech is not illegal, its a useful script, I use it a lot to backup files from one server to the other even databases. Most shared hosting won't allow rapidleech because it eats a lot of bandwidth and it uses high resources, you can try it on a VPS or better if its on a dedicated server.
Hello, The Rapidleech script itself is not illegal. whether or not the files you transfer with it are illegal, is what might make it an 'illegal act'...Rapidleech is normally used for transferring lots of pirated movies/games/applications, but this is entirely at the user's discretion. taking your case, ubunto isos aren't 'illegal' files themselves, so you should have no worries transferring the file. however, many shared hosts don't like Rapidleech running on their servers, because it uses a lot of cpu power and ram, violating their AUP, and/or the files transferred might be illegal....and may terminate your account, especially if they warned about it in their TOS, so always remember to read a shared host's TOS (terms of service) first. so you are always better getting a vps or dedicated server in the end, if you plan to use Rapidleech for major use.
Hey, Thank you very much I have 4500GB space and 450000 GB bandwidth with 7% CPU usage. I split ubuntu ISO file in 35 files using winrar (each file size is about 20mb), then upload it on rapidshare and i start leeching , how much bandwidth, CPU is will consume ?
