Ok bare with me im kinda knew, my website was about 2 months old, I finally did enough work for it to reach google page 1, its been there for the past maybe 2 weeks or so, than all of a sudden today it dropped to page 8. The only two recent things I did was i did a mass directory submission a few days ago, and last night night i uploaded a change to the page by implementing a iframe into it. Could this have fucked up my rankings? I was thinking maybe a competitor tried to do something, but than i guess my site wouldnt be indexed? What should I do to get back to page 1?
an iframe could be the problem. if this frame is the source of all your page information then thats your issue. if the site is brand new, than that is your issue, new sites see sudden increases and drops in the serps
frames are not recommended, bots get trouble reading frame contents. its very possible thats the problem part.
I don't think you competitors could harm your website in any way. That would not make sense. Anyway, try to remove the iframe and see what happens. If your ranking went up, there would be your answer. Also, check your Webmaster tools to see if there is any further problem.
Its very common to see a new website (a few months old) to see erratic search results. Unless your keyphrase is very very niche, 2 months SEO is unlikely to be enough to sustain 1st page results. Keep at it, build those inbound links, write articles, squidoo, hubpages, social bookmarking etc and you will see your site come back. It may take a few months depending on the competitiveness of the keyphrase you are targetting. If you have used the iFrame to contain the main body of the website, i would remove it as this can have quite an impact. Iframes are not recommended in SEO and should be avoided where possible. Depending on the amount and rate of the mass directory submission, this could also have a bearing. Google likes a natural growth of inbound links and if a new site suddenly gets a sudden surge of inbound links, it can discount these and even temporarily penilise the site.
Don't worry. What you're experiencing is perfectly normal and expected. Your site is brand new... When Google first crawls and indexes a site, they will frequently show the newly indexed URLs from that site on page 1 of the SERPs for keyword phrases they consider to be relevant. They will show your URLs there for a few days... sometimes even a few weeks. Some people call this the Google "Honeymoon". No one really knows for sure why they do it. There are lots of theories... Some say it's to get late breaking news or fad topics to the top of the SERPs. Others say it's to collect some initial values the ranking algorithm needs that can only be determined if your URL is seen on the first page of the SERPs - like click-thru-rate, bounce back rate, etc. (not saying any of these are actually used... just giving examples of behavioral statistics that can only be determined if people 'see' your URL in the SERPs). Anyway... after a few days in the spotlight of page 1 of the SERPs (sometimes even a few weeks) Google decides the honeymoon is over. At that point your page disappears off of page 1 and falls waaaaaaaay back into the SERPs where it should have been naturally ranking all along. This is the point where people show up here, webmasterworld.com, the Google Webmaster Help Forums, etc. asking if they've been penalized. The answer is NO! This is perfectly normal. Now the real work begins... You have to compete with the thousands or millions of other web pages out there that are fighting to get to position #1. Just continue creating new unique, compelling content that people will want to read... And most importantly, continue building inbound links from other relevant sites with link text containing the keyword phrase(s) you want to rank for... and you'll see your rankings start to rise. It takes time, effort, and creativity. If it were easy to rank well then there would be no SEOs in the world. Rome wasn't built in a day... Take it one day and one link at a time, and just keep plugging away. You'll get there.
Looks like an Iframe problem again, I have seen many people suffering from iframe problems. Try to get it back while removing your iframes that you have added.
Most probably the iframe - but its quick normal for a site to slip or slide in rankings. The reason being your site being new and not properly dominating the search arena. Also submission to 10000000000 of directories is not much worth these days. Tell me how much time will it take to get a link back from them? may be 2-4 months or more? how many actually visit directories these days? close to few....... Go for more active social media, blogs, forums and UGC publishing sites. Regards
Because there are people like you who keep seoing so better quallity and search engine optimized article get on top. So SEO process never stops.
This is nothing new..... happens to alot of people.... just continue to build more links, always better your SEO, always add content and depending on the competition you could be right back at the top or slowing get your way back.
search engines especially google detects how fast or slow you gain backlinks to your site and as far as I know its not advisable to build backlinks so fast, then iframe is really a disadvantages to your website. Maybe these are the reasons why you drop your rankings.
