Rant: Poorly ran companies (LayeredTech)

After an ongoing battle with LayeredTech over a "cancelled" server (I use the term lightly, since it wasn't actually cancelled), they've sent a collection agency to collect on two "invoices" I haven't paid (the one because they screwed my cancellation, and the other a $25 fee for not paying the invoice.. you know.. the one I cancelled).

So after attempting to resolve this issue through them, I get a e-mail saying it's been resolved. Awesome! About three weeks later I get another letter stating I have to pay up or they'll be putting it on my credit report. So now I have to dispute this nonsense through the collection agency (which undoubtely won't do much), then dispute it through Experian and such several times until they remove it.

Ultimately no harm done, just a huge pain in my ass. I've filed a complaint with the BBB, though they don't seem overly worried about their image (see: leak of 5,000 of their customers information, whoops?).

Lesson: Verify cancellations, don't order from companies with incompetent staff.

    Ouch.

Yea, that sucks. Some comapanies will do anything for a little money. They don't care about their image as some big companies do.

    Good luck with your case.

Yea, it's just a huge hassle, especially considering how easy it is for shady companies (LayeredTech / Collection agencies) to dampen ones credit score.

It appears I'm not the only one http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=4728796
