Hi, I gave my views on some of the issues that dmoz has along with some of the obstacles I'm facing on getting my site in. Here is the full story along with links to the resource zone conversation threads. http://www.directoryjunction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=425
You may wish to get screen shots of those thread, cuz they generally get deleted. [edit]i did not read the links provided[/edit]
Why don't you quit spamming the forums with this crap. ODP is not going to roll over and let you bully them into listing your directory site. Directories, unless they are well developed and focus on a specific category, are not going to get listed. This is because, most, if not all, do not provide unique content. Arguing with the metas, making multiple submissions and attempting to become an editor just to list your own site, and making unsubstantiated accusations will only result in a negative mark against your site.
Forgot what forum you were spamming with this crap? http://www.directoryjunction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=425 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=428659 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=428663 How many more are out there? maybe I should look a bit. It sure looks like you like to use the forums for self promotion of your directory.
Ok now when it comes to that, then It may be in their best interest to do away with their directory categories. I pointed out some urls to Motsa which were under construction, I don't consider those well established. Also, it would be nice to get a definition of what you mean by 'well established' then use that definition and see what percentage of the sites listed follow your so called given definition.
Established would mean that you have listings that are not in the ODP. If you have the same listings as the ODP, then you would not be unique. The editors are always quick to remove dead/inappropriate listings. When you posted the category, they were removed. With the problems after the crash, the automated link checker Robozilla has not been working. Your idea to remove all directories from the upper level categories is a good idea - one I proposed more then once. A directory with a very specific focus in a very narrow category is much more in line with the "unique content" idea. The ODP has evolved in the past years - much of it good, some of it not so good. Deleting categories is not something that is done lightly - it takes an act of god (metas and admins) to allow it to happen. While listing directories in the past was widely done, it is not now.
No idea skunky , just just upset and thought it was about the bunny forums , i am out go on keep discussing.
I found this in the page that you have linked to: LOL. You don't know what you are talking about. There has never been any intellect in RZ, so they can not have any intellectual property.
