Okay, I actually hate to throw my laundry out here, but I'm just so FRUSTRATED right now. My landlord (previous landlord according to the foreclosure notice) lied and defrauded us to get us to sign a fixed-term lease when she already knew she was in default. I asked her point blank, "Are you selling the house? Is it in default? Any chance of it going to foreclosure?" she said, NO, No, No. This was her investment property. I had a colleague check out the title on the house, and it looked good. (we found out later that the First Mortgage and Default has her last name misspelled so we couldn't see it when we did a search). The bank foreclosed upon the property, the landlord never made the repairs that she promised, we're out our security deposit, and the kicker is that I have a special needs son who doesn't do well with moving. She knew this ahead of time and we were planning on staying for quite a while. I'm so DARN MAD right now. We tried negotiating with the Bank through their real estate agent about a Cash For Keys offer and/or purchase offer. The BANK wants me to be responsible for all the conditions and problems that the Landlord failed and refused to correct. Since I won't spend the thousands ($10K for electrical) they are starting to evict us. Oh, I'm so mad right now, I'm writing this to my fellow DP'ers so that I don't pick up the phone are start saying things I shouldn't say. Thanks for listening.
