smallbusinessguy I totally agree with you. I have lost important jobs to people that offered a lower price but ultimately failed to do the promised work to the client. Unfortunatelly it has come to this. :(

    P.S.: added to your reputation.

Well its not about losing jobs.. Its about business ethics... Just because it is on the internet, doesn't mean that you can follow deceptive practices

Vastly true. However, instead of educating people who provide such services, it would be great if we can educate the buyers. That would prove more effective

You are very much correct and I had also seen people posting questions which are already been discussed and promises to do work in low price, but the end result is that they do not do any activity.

I see that this discussing has sprouted some important points as to what the sellers must look into while providing services and buyers must look into while purchasing.

To the sellers: Claim only what you can achieve
To the buyers: SEO is not cheap

Smallbusinessguy.. I can't even begin to tell you how much I agree with you. I come here often hoping to maybe pick up a little new information but I feel like I end up just answering a bunch of newbie questions. What I've found from this forum is that many "SEO experts" don't know anything besides link building. They love xRumer/Scrapebox and spam from sun up to sun down. 99% of people on here can't tell you the difference between syndication and duplicate content. That same number couldn't tell you why meta keywords are still important, even when Google completely ignores them. What we have here is, pardon my language, a clusterfuck of a horrible information, blackhatters trying to make a quick buck, and newbies learning the worst ways to go about SEO. A lot of the people around here make me wonder why I even keep coming back and why I'm even in the SEO field when the industry is full of newbie blackhatters offering cheap services (you get what you pay for).

Not much different for copy writing and content writing as well

Dont forget bulk social bookmarking, profile links

Have you even noticed many people's sign up names? Mostly SEO related. I keep coming back because I feel there are genuine people to be helped here. The moment it becomes too much, I am out of here

Haha this always gets me. There was a guy on here called "kingofseo" who didn't know squat about seo. I think he signed up at WarriorForum under the same name and posted a list of "104 ways to get links" which turned out to be copy/pasted off of another website and included methods like "buy Hannah Montana tickets and give them away on your website" and my personal favorite, "sue Google."

Thought people might be smart enough to rewrite it to match their site content or atleast generalize

Guess we have the same taste there....

Buying SEO services is NO different than buying a new car (or used car for that matter). Clients who leave you and go for cheaper services can obviously not expect the same results. Let's face it, you GET what you pay for.

BTW - anyone using these (or any) forums for finding business is not being smart. These forums (and others) should be used as a portal for sharing information and learning. Anyone who who is marketing their business 100% on forums is probably not someone you want to buy from. Again - It goes to the customer for not doing their research and homework about the company, products or services.

I have to say that your idea of a forum is not at all correct.

You have no idea how many unique and quality service providers this forum has. Stick a while and you'll know :)

Thanks for the reply to my post. I will definetly stick around and learn more about DP.

However to clarify (because my original post may not be that clear as I go back and read it). I was simply saying that no one (especially an SEO expert) should rely SOLELY on forum posting for marketing your business or services. If they are, then they are probably not an SEO firm you want to do business with. I am sure there are plenty of successful, competent SEO companies that are a part of this forum (botht for the own business and that of their clients). But like any succesful business, they are more than likely working on forums, blogs, classified ads, article submissions and directory submissions also. That was the point I was actually trying to make. If you Google an SEO company by name, you should get a variety of results and listings for them...not JUST forum postings.

Didn't read the whole rant, but I agree there is a lot of scamming. However, this is not limited to SEO, anything done online, there are many people scamming constantly compared to the number of people doing things honestly. This is just a fact of life. Even offline, there are many people scamming. Think about all those MLM people, promising to make you money. Any place money is involved, there will be people trying to take it as much as they can.

Cant completely agree with you there... I dont think you will find reputable SEO companies in this forum. They will be mostly targeting clients who come through search engines. Mostly freelancers and small companies with little SEO experience hang around on forums

That is true. But the ratio of scammers to quality service providers is more in case of SEO...

Well, i love this discussion. Thanks to smallbusinessguy.

I saw in this thread that some of you suggest not to trust "guaranteed google ranking". In my SEO experience, this is possible. Of course, if the number of SERP competition is make sense. Let's say guaranteed top 10 position for keywords with SERP competition under 2,000,000 pages. I offer this service, and i know i could reach it in the 6 month time frame.

If you don't believe me, you should try ordering then.

Regarding SEO companies or individual freelancer, both are equivalent. There are many SEO geeks here that wouldnt build a company because building and managing a company is not easy. Just my two cent.

    @smallbusinessguy

Yah i agree with, but not full, only up to some extent.I agree thatsome wrong SEO services are going on here, but u said that people are asking basic questions only for increasing threads...,hmm,may be some people, but not all,because...,there is a reason.... now a days we have many free hosts and free domains or less cost hosts and domain services..,so most of the people are showing interest on having own websites..,so obviously, they wanna have their sites in high rank, they are new in having their own website and so obviously they may have many doubts in SEO....they are NEW people so they dont know about SEO and they will ask something like What is seo??What is Link Exchange?etc etc etc....we cannot do anything for this as this is something like Natural Process....Ofcourse many of us here are SEO experts,so generally we fedup of answering these basic questions, but we cannot do anything for this,as i said this is something like natural process.. :)

    Im i right?? :)
