I woke up this morning to find my search traffic in Google Analytics fell 90%+ today, and when I search for the terms that I used to be in the top 3 for, I've fallen by a few spots in the best case scenario, but for most terms I'm no longer ranking AT ALL. I have not engaged in any kind of spammy link building, and the content on my site is 100% original. I launched the site at the beginning of January and have seen a steady growth in traffic from 0/day to about 200/day recently, with a significant growth in user engagement as measured by the number of reviews submitted to my site, but now I'm basically back to square one. Is there a way to find out why I've been penalized? And is there an appeal process? Really bummed about this. Thanks for your help. Chris
Sometimes things just happen, you may want to give it some time to self correct by not touching the site and doing any work offsite either. I had a client that disappeared from Google completely but gave it a few days and it came right back. If you truly know you did nothing wrong its probably a glitch on Google's end.
There may have been another Panda update today. http://www.seroundtable.com/google-panda-22-13532.html
as I have a lot of SEO clients I can confirm that some strange things happens from yesterday. I am happy that my rankings went up in majority of cases but I have a strange situation for one of the clients. He were something like #150 ranked and then he appears on second page, later when I check nowhere in google, then couple of hours later again on second page of google... Then, for one keyword he went up for another down, after couple of hours keyowrd that was up is down and keyword that was down is now up again Hope things will settle down soon
I think Google is rolling out some algorithm changes and of course, it affects all of our websites. Some sites went up in rank, some went down or worse, disappeared from the search result pages.
