    Hey,
I got great news to share regarding my bidding web directory - I was searching for different keywords on Google, and noticed something amazing, thought I'd share it with the users here at DigitalPoint.

    I am ranking #1 on several, servers for many keywords, here are a few of them;

    "Highly promoted bidding web directory"
    "promoted bidding web directory"
    "highly promoted web directory"
    "promoted bidding directory"

and I am also ranking 3rd at the keyword "promoted web directory"

we paid quit a bit on SEO, and it is paying off.

I think I've made quite good ranking on these keywords, and I am quite happy to achieve such a goal, here are a few pictures of the "google.com" datacenter.

Good work, are you getting much traffic from those phrases?

I think with respect 2 keywords should be your focus, remember folks are real people they will type in 1 or 2 words but then it trails off the number that will key in 3 or 4 or more keywords
Good luck by the way only my opinion thats all :)
Your doing a good job, but the single and 2 word combinations are very significant

I am getting a pretty good percentage, but lets keep in mind, it could be much better - traffic is quite low, but been increasing by each month.

@britishguy, thanks for your suggestion, and I do believe you are correct, but I am still getting to know the SEO side better, and will try and make any improvements in the near future, thank you for your kind comments, and I will make sure your suggestions are considered and improved in the near future.

Nice that you are ranking high, but does anyone actually search for these?

I was about to ask :p

Try out a keyword research tool and determine if there is any search volume for those specific phrases.

I am with a SEO guy, this is still in the early stages, I tried easier keywords in order to see if it really goes as expected, now I know for sure, and I am going to rank #1 on harder keywords. There are still lots of things, I need to deal with, both onpage & offpage seo, but all will be done soon.

If you are here to make such comments mickey, I advise you to stay away - I am not looking for useless replies - and if you don't like it, please don't bother to take seconds of your life for me.

Such comments by Mickey are more contructive than useless! I think the reality is, if you don't like constructive feedback then you should not have joined this forum. Forums are here to trade ideas and concepts... attacking a fellow member (who i might add has a proven history of quality posts and threads on this forum) is not the way to gain friends or a good reputation. I advise if that is your attitude you look else where!

    Further more in regards to...

...perhaps your SEO guy should point out to you that presuming or saying you are going to get a #1 position in SEO is foolish... things like this are not for definate!!! SEO firms or similar who claim they can get you that number one spot should be avoided like the plague!

Have some red rep on me!

Yep, watch out for anyone that tells you they can get you and keep you at Number 1 for a competitive keyword.

Also getting number one for "Highly promoted bidding web directory" and for say, "bid directory" are two different animals.

Don't get upset with what mikey1090, it is constructive.

If you don't like replies why did you open the thread? Actually it is not a useless reply, I think Mike is being helpful and you are being rude.

sabian are you deciding for me what is a good comment and what is bad???

i think i am old enough to decide what a contructive post is and what isn't.

please tell me where the constuctive feedback is here: Nice that you are ranking high, but does anyone actually search for these?

i cant seem to find it you?

and about attacking; thats my 3th post to mickey telling him i dont like that kind of feedback.

so you set the rules how to post on this forum and how we all can make friends.

let me be clear in one thing, i pick my own friends and dont need you to daddy me around.

you advicing me to look elsewhere, sorry sabian i like most of the members on dp.
and just because you think i should post somewhere else.

he he dont like our feedback, lets kick him????

for the seo part; yes we are trying to go for number 1.
he told me clear it is very hard competition out there.
but does that mean i have to say to him, he lets go for google page 300??

i think we all are trying to get ranked number one.
atleast thats my goal, or do you think thats stupid too?

let me make this clear to anyone.

all positive feedback is welcome, but dont make useless posts.
and dont go hijacking other peoples posts.

    thanks for reading.

I do appologies dtm, i was in no way deciding for you; i was telling you as you didn't appear to fully grasp what had been said. Ultimately what Mikey said was a constructive comment/post based on the information you had provided.

I have highlighted the 'constructive' feedback for you in bold above.

As for the red rep you have given with the comment 'Can't Mikey fight his own battles' - i'm pretty sure he can...

"Highly promoted bidding web directory". 3 or 4 people a year will be very happy to find you there for that phrase.

Sometimes criticism is hard to take but in the end it will help you do better. I also would not take it so hard, making a post on a public forum and to be only willing to accept positive comments is a little immature.

It is good to see your enthusiasm but ranking for a keyword that is almost never searched is not only pretty much useless it means you might be on the wrong track and wasting resources (time and money).

    good luck

I wasnt going to bother replying, but since three others told you and you wouldnt listed, here goes.

I could build some links to a site, and get it ranked #1 for "when mike woke up in the morning he came to DP and made a new thread! wow" but who the hell would ever search for that?

Thats why i made my "pointless" post. It was a question. Whilst it is nice to be#1 on google, is there any need to make a thread about it, when nobody actually searches for it? If you rank high for a competitive keyword, by all means make a thread and get congratz, but dont be suprised when you get comments from people like me and sabian that are not pointless, they are made to ask you a sensible question.

    Also;

my name is Mike or mikey its not mickey.
i seem to remember you being the one, like others who i gave a lot of help and advice to on the phpLB forums, as the owner is away i seem to be the only guy helping others out. So if your phpLB site brakes in future or you need help, perhaps me and my "useless" comments will be elsewhere....
