Rankings: Niche Sites (pages) vs. Micro Niche Sites (1 page)?

Niches: one site for each keyword, or multiple keywords per site?

I am currently creating content to create websites with. My question is this: will single page micro niche xfactor site, such as http://jadetreeplant.site11.com be better for the search engines than a website like http://favoritetraffic.com ? Both would have the same content, but one would target multiple keywords (one for each page) while the other one would be one page and target one keyword.

Also, does a free subdomain harm your rankings as opposed to paying for a .com .org or .net? Thanks!

I always go for multiple keywords. Sometimes what ranks really high surprises me. :)

Plus with multiple keywords, I think you have a better chance of ranking higher for different things.

Never use free subdomain if you are looking to build a stable income.
They are no where near as good as .com, .org etc

    I would do both ;)

    Let me explain.

You should build one bigger site that targets multiple keywords and then build smaller sites that target tighter keyword groups. Assuming you have the whois data hidden and they are on different host you could use all of these highly relevant smaller sites to link to your main site.

This would not only help boost the rankings of the main site but if for any reason you picked up a penalty in the future it would be easy to repalce your rankings with the smaller sites. Use them as 'backups' for example ;)
