In the past 2 months I got my companies website ranking for on of the major keywords which used to rank top 50 on a good day to ranking #3-4. My concern is it stays at #3-4 for a day or two then drops back to it's old holding position of #11-12 for the other 5-6 days. It's done this 3 times now in the past 2 1/2 weeks, and am not sure what to make of it. I look at it as possibly being bad because Google might be throwing the site into the testing waters and the site doesn't meet their expectations so they throw it back down, or maybe its good because Google is giving it some high rank time to see how it performs and might make the rank more permanent. It's making the difference of 40-50 hits a day to 800-1200, so you can see the reason for concern.
