Hi, One of my 6 Months Old Website is Dropped from SERP in Google. It is a PR 2 Website with around 300 Unique articles. It was ranking alright Last month and then dropped in SERP. When I search with MyDomainname without .com , Its still not showing up on Page 1 of Google But When I search with Mydomainname.com It comes up on Spot 1.. Same situation from last 3 Weeks. Do you think Its a Google Dance ? Please Explain
Yes, It is definitely Google Dance that your keyword is went down. Sometime it happens all of sudden in a day and goes down slowly with the passage. After a day it would stand on a position where it will stay for sometime but you just need to focus on your work.
It happens because of multiple reason, first of all check that your ranking dropped only or there is a drop in the backlinks aswell, in case of drop in backlinks then the drop in SERPs is obvious and try to improve backlinks again. On the other hand if the backlinks are still good then just wait for couple of days and watch if the keywords come back to the actual position. In case they doesn't then review the content that is being published or onsite content as there can be some kind of penalty on the basis of plagiarism.
if the ranking dropped 3 weeks ago and still the same, then it is less likely to be google dance. why don't you hire the SEO assistant you have in your signature? or it is that site you are talking about (considering its close to 6 month old site)?
Long as your site is still indexed by Google continue building your backlinks. Make sure not to use same anchor text on every backlink. Also do not point all backlinks to same URL. Point some backlinks to internal pages on your site.
It happens depends on your traffic and how you maintain your keywords, but if your keyword is dancing then you have to do social bookmarking and directory submission. You will be get lot more result for your keywords.
Hi there! Thanks for the reply. Well I understand rankings dropped but Why my site is not even coming up from its name without .com.. When I add .com it appears.. I have not worked much on backlinking it. Just a few links here n there But I have over 300 Optimized unique articles... Confused
just build some backlinks on blogger, wordpressblog etc and submit your website to directories. you would see your site go up. if it doesn't help, you should try change the keywords, metaname and page title.
well, just from this little bit you've said without knowing much more it seems pretty clear. Just think about it dude (deducing your problem is easier if you know SEO). here's a hint - you have a site that's only six months old..... with THREE HUNDRED articles on it. ready for the math? That's FIFTY ARTICLES per month. So your brand new, baby sapling of a website is churning out unique, quality content at the rate of an average of 1.67 articles per day consistently, nonstop since it's birth? Does that sound NATURAL to you? nevermind the fact that young websites typically build content very slowly because it takes time to flesh out the rest of the site and build linking structure, landing pages, navigation, etc. so i'm guessing your problem lies in one of, or a combination of the following: 1) Building up too fast 2) Too much content way too fast 3) You're still in the sandbox 4) Poor quality content 5) Duplicate content Also... if all you care about is ranking for your domain name, you have a looooong way to go
Thanks for the reply and suggestions. Content is all original and Good quality content.. I dont knw what to do now
I think there can be some fluctuations or the thing stated here like it should be Google Dance. Sometimes it happens when some changes are made by Google for SERPs.
