    hello,

i am having a website, using wordpress and it has only one home page with 5 posts on the home page it self. I treat it as a website rather than updating the homepage or adding new posts to it, but google is looking for regular new contents and looks for lots and lots of new content and which must also be unique too...

so my question here is, if i do not update the home page and make a subfolder and start blogging about thhe same niche ? by updating it regularly, will it look like that my blog is being updated with new content and thus it would help me in getting good rank in google search engine ??

i would be thankful if you can sugest me any thing ?

    thanks :)

Google should think the content in the new folder is fresh, but remember that Google is not stupid. :)

It will work. The folder doesn't matter, the important think is that you post new content in your website. But I wouldn't rely on the new content for better SERP ranking. There are factors which Google respects much more.

Get Google Webmaster Tools, submit and XML sitemap, and link build to the subpages.

I think it will help - the fact its in a sub folder does not matter much - just keep putting new content on - but make it good and relevant

it will improve your main domain health, but only sub folder will be effected, which you just have made

That's called using keywords in your URL.
How long have you been doing seo?

no...my domain is already having keyword, and i am just wondering if i make a sub-folder and keep updating it regularly, because i dont want to change anything in homepage, its like a static page, so sub-folder will be updated regularly, will it help in serps ? as i am providing fresh content regularly ? i hope you understand what i mean..

To be short, yes it will work, as long as it is not a duplicated content. And you need put it on your sitemap and or put a link from the main page.

This is not a bad idea to regularly update your website, when you don't want any changes in homepage. But for SERP of your homepage on targeted keywords, you have to build links.

It seems that offsite seo is answering the ranking problems better than the onsite one.
