Ranking very well for one particular keyword - How to rank for more?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by mindreader90, Mar 14, 2009.

I have this new website which ranks on page one of google for one particular keyphrase. I get most of my traffic from this keyphrase and there are only a few posts too which get the traffic. How can I rank well for other keyphrases also and what is the best way to improve traffic on other posts through these few posts?

    Thanks.

You need to produce content for other keywords in order to score higher rankings for other keywords. Keep on adding new content and google will surely recognize it.

Content is the king. You need to create high keyword rich content for other keywords and place sidelinks/content links to that pages from the page you are getting high traffic. This will help you rank better for the other keywords.

Publish more posts on your blogs. On each of these posts, make sure that you do keyword optimization using these keywords that you want to rank on search engines. Don't always use the same keyword phrases. You need to use others too but related ones. Also use long tail keywords as well.

    1. Make sure that the key phrases appear on your site somewhere in the text
    2. Build one way links to your site using anchor text that contains the key phrases that you are trying to rank for

I would submit to web directories using the other keywords that you want to rank for in the title text.

Don't forget an important piece of the puzzle - no matter what the pagerank of your domain is in Google, when you post a new page, it starts out with zero page rank. This means you need to get links TO YOUR NEW PAGE, backlinks with the anchor text using your keywords. So be sure to build some quality backlinks to your inner pages on your site. This will allow you to gradually get nice rankings for your other keywords.

You need to create more content that are keyword-rich :) You also need to build links on those post using right anchor text. Sometimes even if you don't optimize a particular keyword, you're able to rank on it.

IMO, you need to create new pages relevant to the new keywords and good content on those pages, then start adding backlinks with the keyword as anchortext

Use more keywords in your site and get anchor links from sites that include your keywords. You could also write (or outsource writing of) and publish keyword-rich articles.

Start one way link building ( bookmarking, article, blog and forum posting )
and use your highly targeted keywords in it. you can also write keyword rich content to highlight those keywords.

you will definitely see result for your keywords in few time.
