I have one blog that ranking just got down. This blog has been 6 months old and 301 from the older site which has been 2 years old. This thing had happened 5 months ago when the blog first start from 301 and ranking came back shortly after. A few days ago, I just add new content and do submit another article to ezine to build link, which I am doing regularly. 2 days ago I found my ranking has disappeared from the first page to #556 then #837 in a few hours later. I tried to check if my site got penalized but no. I checked in all Google DC's and found there is no top 100 for this blog. 1. All content on this blog has been written by human and uniqueness. Written for human read and not for SE either. 2. link has been build up naturally and regularly. 3. type my domain name in Google and found domain name still rank #1 with subpage #2 4. check indexed pages, all pages still be indexed by Google. no de-indxed 5. check google webmaster tools, found no error, no content issues, no warning. Google still come and cache my page regularly. Sitemap has been downloaded by Google regularly either. What happened and what should I do? Should I add more new content and built up more link now? or just wait and see its ranking may come back like it once before? Please help
Just add moew unique content and keep on builing links Fluctuations in SERP ranking happens all the time
I wouldn't exactly call this a "fluctuation". This seems to be a very severe spanking. I would lean toward - 1. It is a glitch that will correct itself shortly, and if it doesn't, 2. I would try like heck to figure out why Google thinks that you purchased links. Link buying has resulted in similar penalties over the last 6 months. There was a -5 penalty, -30 penalty, -60 penalty, -800 penalty, and even a -950 penalty discussed, as I recall, all for link-buying. Might someone have tattled on you? I would suspect something like this first, but I could be totally wrong. Here is some stuff to look over - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=link+buying+minus+penalty
Thanks for your help clarification but I didn't buy link for this site because it's not worth enough to buy link for it .
just sit back and wait, this happens not only to you. As pioneer1 said, it just a fluctuation of SERP.
Hmm..never buy incoming links.. it's total BS and I've ranked without them every single time.. the only "purchased links" you should get is forum posts or squidoo lenses or articles etc... The problem is most likely temporary.. (happened to me too), but days later it was back up... it can happen if you mass submit an article and Google thinks it's being spammed or something, not to worry! - Chris
Make sure you continue to engage in 100% white hat link building techniques. Now might be a good time to issue a press release, which is a legitimate way to greatly increase your backlinks.
Yeah I think the same D and I hope so either). Google just increased its index on all pages in my blog and just downloaded sitemap 5 hours ago and just cached my homepage for 12 hours ago but my ranking still not coming back.
Guys guys! Can you please take a look at this and help me out? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=835021
Keep adding content and build backlinks. I think the reason for such a drop is the New Content Boost. Google give a New Content Boost to new pages and new sites, this boost helps them rank high in search results. But this boost is only temporary. May be your site also had this boost.
You say that your blog "disappeared from the first page to #556 then #837" .... how do you find out this information? Surely you dont keep liking the Next button in Google until you see your site in the listings? (This could take forever!!) My site also has virtually dropped out of Google completly (getting no traffic from Google) and I'd like to see where my pages are actually ranked. So, how do you find this information out? Is there a tool? Cheers. Andy
Go to google and type in a sentance from your blog that you know is unique. See if another site is stealing your content.
It could be temporary. Google acts quite randomly at times. I've had similar issues with some of my sites on google.
If http://Google.com one more backlink for those bastards right bumps you down, work yourself back up.
OK, you just painted me a picture of you, with a long gray beard, sitting on a pillow, high atop a mountain peak ...
