    Hi,

I have a little problem and thought that somebody over here can help me out. I am optimizing a website www.ucompare-cosmeticsurgery.co.uk, which earlier was ranking on google with 'cosmetic surgery clinics' and 'cosmetic surgery clinic' in 3rd or 4th page. I did some on page optimization on home page, making it w3c compliant, changed the meta tags of home page and few inside pages. The ranking has gone and I can't make out why. See if some one can help me, may be I'm using some practices which the search engine is considering as Spam. I need an help.

    Thanks

If you just made the meta tag changes it takes some time for google to update and place your site. Just wait it out and get more links to your site.

rcj662 is right; altering the <meta> description and keywords tags and especially the <title> tag really seems to upset Google. I try and make sure that once I've given a page the appropriate tags - I never have to touch them again.

meta tags of description and keywords have been greatly reduced in the effect to boost your SE rankings by almost all SEs.

google ignores the meta keywords and keywords because of this i dont think that the serp problem is related with the meta tag change.

for better rank , title tag is more important than the description and keywords.

I disagree. Changing tags including title tags may reflect the changing content of your pages. As long as you don't change it everyday, you will be fine.

What you have seen could be normal fluctuations of Google rankings. Getting to the top of Google is not the most difficult part, but keeping it there IS. Start focusing on solid link buidling. Your rankings may come back soon.

    Good Luck!

I agree that you should just give it some time and see what happens before worrying about it to much.

Thanks but it is already over two months and further I can't notice any major rank shuffling. I'm working on off page and link building but is there something that I'm missing. Please suggest
