Yahoo and Google are two completely different SE's. They each use a different algorithm which could explain why you rank better in one than the other. Plus, I would rather go for G! than Y!

I agree with everyone that google got more traffic and they both use different algo.

If you try to optimize your site for yahoo you might loose ranking in google. I would suggest you to add more keyword rich text content on your site. Especially lots of high quality static content on your home page or the page you intent to rank well.

Infact, you can build a seperate directory/page with keywords in the name of the directory and lot of keyword rich original text content. Do basic seo like keywords in title tag, h1 tag etc. You might get good ranking for yahoo without loosing google traffic.

By the way, getting listed in yahoo directory will boost your ranking in Yahoo as well as Google. ;)

Google should be your main focus. Do not risk good rankings in Google to try to rank better in Yahoo. I think you should be more focused on converting Google traffic if you have the rankings.

for yahoo result, you should make some patience. since yahoo requires more back link from articles, rss, press release and ofcourse from good quality dir.

thus try to do for good period of time and you should get good result

If you are getting good keyword ranking in Google then it is enough in comparison of other search engines.
