    Hey guys,

I used to use wordpress only but now I'm using Mediawiki as well and it's great but the big problem is that in my opinion Google gives a low ranking to such sites compared to wordpress.

I could be wrong though, can anyone confirm this? If so, what does wordpress have that mediawiki doesn't? RSS? fresh c0ntent on the frontpage? I'm confused.

Google does not pay any attention to what software you use to put a website up. There are way too many things you need to watch out for to post here. A few things you might look at is your Navigation structure, make sure the bots/crawlers can read it, and try to eliminate any footprints. For example, some sites have a link back to the owner of a theme they are using in the footer. Remove it unless it is on topic with your web page.

Surely Google treats every sites, even free hosted, equal to rank on search engine. Some may just lack of authority and reputation making them slower to get indexed or ranked.
