I've been trying to get our main search term to improve on Google with very limited success, even though it is in the top 3 on MSN and Yahoo. The term "Waterproof Seat Covers" is ranked 37 in Google. I just found that "Waterproof Seatcovers" is ranked #2 in Google -- but even Google suggests changing the term to 3 separate words. The website is www.SeatShield.com. Does anyone have any idea why the 2nd term is ranked so high, when the first one is ranked so poorly, and what we can do to improve it? Thanks.
Because they are different terems, it is that simple. And ignore what google suggests, it is sometimes driven on an individual basis depending on your machine settings. If you have typed in the 3 word version then type the two word it will suggest the former, and vice versa sometimes.
Check the terms with the DP Keyword Suggestion Tool and see which one is more searched for. Whichever one that is, make that your page title and the text of your inbound links.
Good point, thanks! DP's tool should be used after that since it will give you good suggestions for alternate IBL text as well as some ideas of other terms to hit.
its all about backlinks with anchor text... the name is not important. Waterproof Seat Covers oops just get backlinks for both...and voila...
I don't know about google, but here on DP, you just made a sale. I've been looking for something like this for my truck. Good luck in the keyword game. It can be extremely frustrating at times, but when you accomplish your goal of getting ranked highly, it makes it all worthwhile.
