Well you will hardly get any traffic if you do not rank high for a well searched term in MSN. Akash Kumar
MSN doesn't have a sandbox. Google is the only SE with an aging filter that has been referred to as the sandbox.
Yahoo has a sandbox. At least that is what i noticed. Not as tough as Google but i think there still is.
Uh huh, well MSN hasn't ranked any of the many sites I've submitted until after a month or so. Indexed right away, but not ranked. This had been the case since the end of may. Then after a month or so, they shoot up in the rankings. I don't care whether anyone refers to that as a sandbox - but thats sure as heck what it is !
MSN ranking is not easy nowadays. Earlier MSN used to rank sites giving more importance to Site Title and the keywords in the domain name. However, MSN algorithm has changed recently and going to top in MSN is not that easy anymore. Backlinks in MSN have also drastically reduced compared to a month ago. MSN is also learning and trying to come at par with Google by making its algorithm more realistic.
Thats correct , i think that msn is challenging with them selves in more diffrent algorithm but , some thing came diffrent to me now days. They not only looking at the words but they are checking the site also if there is anything wrong..
Regarding a MSN sandbox..... I ranked number 1 for a single word that is slightly competitive a day after my site was indexed. This was in early June. Now with a couple of new sites indexed, I cannot rank in the top 100 even though my site has as many or more backlinks (which is very few) and SEO strategies in place. So, we'll see if in a month or more if they rank higher for my keywords....
Can anybody let me know what is the "sandbox" in the SEO term???thank you!!! About MSN, I do agree that we can easily get ranked top, but it does changes the rangking very frequently. I've experience my self, got couple of site get top ranked after MSN indexed, after couple of weeks, your ranking start to changes & changes & changes.... My latest site get top ranked (2nd in first page) in MSN with this keyword: >> diabetic diet plan (www.diabetesdiabeticdiet.com) ... conclusion: don't be so happy when u get top ranked in MSN, it won't last long....Google & Yahoo better although its hard to get into it... Reuben
Totally true , but also not true. At first you might get msn ranking in the first page but if you do worthingly work on the site it will stay at the same position.
To rank a new site in MSN you don't need to submit it, You need to get links from sites already indexed in MSN. My strategy has been to link to the site from a link in a forum signature. If you just submit it to MSN then yeah your going to wait a good month before it is indexed and ranking for search terms.
I've been dumped twice in the last 6 months by MSN. They haven't dumped my info subdomain totally... Quite a number of pages of that are still there. But the actual domain, they must hate it. It's goneskies totally. hmmmn. I've just gone to check MSN to confirm I am still delisted and I got this on a site: command
Sub domain used to be easy with MSN. Now, domain name with your main keywords can do well. I Started another wp blog 2 days ago. Wonder how well it is going to rank this time round. I submit to msn and get 6 links from my site and in 2 days you will be index. If you are using WP blog. All you posting will be index too.
whatever said and done about msn rankings. two thigs are sure. 1. MSN ranking do keep the moral and sprit high till the time we get rankings some other engine as well. 2. And some traffic is better then none. A site listing well in MSN draws some traffic that helps a webmaster work on his site and have all small issues taken care off by the time actuall traffic starts pouring in. cheers
Alis, what kind of "worthingly work" do you suggest? Can you give us a few tips to rank top in MSN and maintain that position? Best, z
