I was at that session and I also believe that we are very quickly switching to personalized search, and behavior based search.

Yeah I'd say SEO is completely dead. Everybody should just give up and let their domains expire imho.

BIG WASTE OF TIME DONT BOTHER! :D

Well, if what this guy says is true it is gonna change everything, so SEO isn't dead per say, but ranking will be.

What if more than one person uses computer in the house?

What if someday I donr want the java drink and decided to learn java programming then that would piss me off as well...

I cant see it working on a mass scale

I read the news letter at work and got a call from some internet marketing solicitor an hour later lol. I laid into him pretty good since we rank well for the terms we want at work. He said we are ranking poorly for our source code terms (they are more general while the actual ones we care about are local).

I think the article is correct on the future of the search engines. I dont know when that will happen because this is the first i have heard of it. The SEO basics will still work with rankings though.

Google is already moving to behavior based search results. The change is coming but as always, we'll find a way to deal with it an still be profitable.

Rankings won't die ever! It's more like adapt or die. Besides, there will always be people searching for a specific thing whether it's java programming or java coffee, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't worry too much about the future of search and rankings. :D
