Unless the ranking was for a rare niche term, in which case it will probably resurface in a couple of weeks, you can expect to stay in the Google wilderness for many months.

I haven't found anythings like that in google yet. But You know sometimes, you can't say about google rankings.

Just have patience, it will be back.

I have a site that is years old and was ranking in the top ten for many semi-competitive terms. All of a sudden late last week my allinanchor for all of these terms just completely feel through the floor. All of the links were natural and one-way, so I can't explain it. The number of visitors the site receives from Google has dropped by about 95% and unfortunately so has revenue.

I was hoping it was an update, but it has been five days now and the results have spread across all DCs so my hope if starting to fade.

Fiction: Advertising on Google affects my rankings in the search results.
Fact: Advertising with Google neither helps nor hurts a site's rankings in Google.

make sure you have inbound links from some authority website to avoid these ups and downs in rank.
