One of my sites is ranking for a high comp keyword term that doesn't even appear in the meta title or description, please can somebody explain this? My thoughts are this, it really is all about relevance and google is clearly getting smarter at identifying it.

Do you have images with the "alt tag" set at keyword? When we create a new webpage we put some basic text up with an image with the alt tag set at keyword and then start building content on page and off. That way it gets indexed very quickly.

I'm pretty sure meta tags aren't nearly as important as great high quality content is these days.
