I know you can check specific key word placement for your site on google.

    My question is:

Is there a tool that you can use to determine key words that you rank for but dont know you rank for?

For example I have a dog health site. Now if i were to rank for a crazy term like dog jell, I would never know cause I dont check that. Is there a tool that does check that kinda stuff?

    thanks.

    1) Check your logs. Your hosting provider should give you something like AWStats or Webalizer that will parse your server logs and show you the terms people used to find your site.

    2) Google Sitemaps. If you submit a sitemap (google.com/webmasters) Google will start tracking the most common phrases used to find your site.

Yep, seeing some slight traffic in a keyword using AWStats, then checking with the DP keyword tracker is my method. Once a month I check the AWStats for keywords I have never thought of.... has worked out well!
