Ranking for a phrase that's just in the title metatag. Can it be done?

    Hi,

I have a phrase that I have only used in my title metatag saying something like "play ninja raffle compo game" without the quotes.

Now if I wanted to rank for that exact phrase within Google or some other search engines, then would I be able to do it even though I have not got that phrase in any other part of my site.

The thing is I have a title like "play ninja raffle compo game" that I want to rank for, but in the actual site I just have "ninja raffle compo" without the play and game words. The play and game words are in the page, but are scattered around rather than put together like "play ninja raffle compo game".

Hope you understand what I mean.

    Thanks!

The title tag is not a meta tag.

You can rank for a term in the title though.

You can rank for it as long as it's relevant to the topic on your page.

I think using your targeted keywords in your title page and in your anchor text will really help.

You sure can, the title holds alot of weight along with the backlink anchor text.

    OK, thanks.

I know understand. I also don't know why I mentioned it as a metatag as I know it's not. I will have to blame this error on a late night. lol
