Very little, pointing at lots of sites, so its not a great example - but If they are penalising 1 then I figure they would penalise all.
I do think it has something to do with the amout of weight you put in. If you don't have much weight there will not be that much links displayed in a short time and therefore will not go above the threshold to be seen as a linking scheme. If you make sure new links are not added by the 1000's a day you should be fine, I had a weight new style of 22.000, this was just too much... As for asking Yahoo about the co-op, I did and just got the standard reply they give everybody...
I had a lot of weight - That was probably the problem. But I never would have used the co-op if I knew that Yahoo does not like it. I think I learned my lesson... sam.
According to this experiment 10,000 weight on 1 keyword seems to be ok and thats quite alot of weight.
The site in question is not found in the first 500 results, doesn't seem OK by me..... OK by GG, yes, but they have just not gotten around to banning/penalizing the sites yet.. NOT OK by Yahoo, they seem to be more effective in weeding out linkschemes.
Fairplay, I didnt check the before and after of yahoo. But I have sites ranking well in Yahoo - I think mainly from coop.
Agreed, but they have gone from 1 extreme to the other...overnight. Keep me abreast of this situtation, let me know if it changes. I am finding the exact opposite.
I keep finding more of my sites doing well with coop for less competitive terms in yahoo, I also have been finding sites that are gone from yahoo , or deindexed down to one page that have don't have coop. Alot of my sites that are deindexed have some sort of affialte datafeed on them , amazon , hotels etc
The traffic I receive from Google because of the co-op is just so huge that I don't care at all even if Yahoo never existed. btw, I was making about 100-150 bucks a day from Yahoo before loosing my rankings recently. I couldn't care less about Yahoo, given how good Google has been to me lately
I agree, I still get lot of traffic from Google.... but what worries me is - will the same sort of "update" happen at Google?
That is the biggy AND are we willing to leave it to fait? Because I am 100% web based I am not. If I don't sell products online I cannot feed my children.
Has anyone checked the serps for this experiment lately? I got 14 in Google but not showing in Yahoo or MSN.
