Dude, his fourm(like a lot of forums) exists for the most part to sell his seo services. Post anything that interfers with his hustle and I think you will be attacked. When i first started trying to learn how to optimize sites that is one of the first forums I went to. I personally feel like I was mislead by him and his cronies. I don't know how many hours I wasted tweaking html and try to generate better "content" because of them. None of which did jack to my rankings. I mean I guess good content is great in all, and it always good to add more or make it better but ...
Yes, the experiment is still on going. The site is at 15 in Google and doesn't show up in the other engines for the term charity.
It would be even more interesting experiment if someone can get the owner of LV run the same experiment using the similar amount of "vaultage" and see who have SERP better results.. ;-)
Impossible because "vaultage" and weight aren't related, so it's impossible to put the "same amount" towards anything.
Not only that, but with LV you are limited to, at most, 20 links per day that accrue over time. With 10,000 co-op weight, you could potentially see a few thousand (maybe even 10s of thousands) ad impressions a day.
Besides LV still needs to mature. I have many beefs with them right now and am bringing ALL my weight back here...but that's another thread
Well if you have the same pr , same number of pages with the same number of ads, you could still create some type of bench mark. For minute a was concerened whatever pattern used to eliminate a lot of blog spammers in yahoo, might be similiar enough to effect coop links. Getting lots of links fast etc. But seeing this test , and another test of my own, site a just added a bunch of weight it appears not. Why does blog spamming still work anyway ( or work as long judging by all the my missing competitiors)? It seems like multi million dollar companies could pay a bunch people to spend a couple weeks finding patterns in all the major guest book and blog comments pages.
In the interest of not disturbing this experiment here yu go, Infiniterb. Please tell me what your experiences have been?
Pretty cool experiment Shawn. Also just wanted to say a quick thank you for the Co-Op itself... it's been awesome advertising.
Google = 17 Yahoo = 17 Msn = 3 Links in MSN = 18,222 Interesting to note that a lot of people are now seeing massive drops in SERPs today in Yahoo. This page hasn't had that happen (yet).
The only pages of mine that I've seen drop in Yahoo in the last 24 hours are ones with nothing to do with the ad network.
