I have a site that ranked ok i Google in its first one month, now suddenly I am at the bottom of the serps. How come, is this usual ?
In the SERP's if you want to be at the top you need to concentrate more on the content and the keywords. If your loosing your position in the serps then it means that your competitors site is much better optimize than your site. Your rank will always vary in the serps it may increase or decrease or it may remain constant.
This is true to an extent, but in its infancy the site was placed there up top until Google found a place to index it until it gets popular. Here's a way you can look at it. Have you ever been to a library and seen the NEW BOOKS shelf. All of the new books that come into the library go on that shelf so everyone sees the new books. After a month or so, the books get placed into the normal library index. That's about as far as the analogy goes because all of the libraries I have seen don't rate their books by popularity. Get votes for your site and it will climb back up the ranks, where your site is basically put on the google "POPULAR BOOKS" shelf.
Depend of how competitive keywords is, but if your site is very new then SE, especially Google, don't ranked site with new until they're ensure about site quality and important by judge on contents and backlink consistency. Don't get too many backlink with hasty in hope to get rank first page very fast then you site will be put under sandbox to test your strength.
hey captain kangaroo, my new sites have never been placed at the top when it was first launched. so not sure about that though. usually, I thought it's more like climbing the corporate culture. we start from bottom up... in anycase, we need to keep building backlinks anyway...
