Ranking: competitve vs non competitive keywords

  1. #1
Hi guys, I was just wondering say I have a website but it ranks on first page of google for relatively non competitive keywords, but it is not #1, would it be better to build links with anchor text to target these less competitive words to try to get them on #1 or would it be best having thousands of links and anchor text directed at the one keyword which is super competitive.

BTW just out of curiosity is there a great difference of traffic from being #1 to #5 on google for a certain keyword.

    cheers

It's no use to be no.1 when nobody is visiting your site.

Go for a keyword that is really being search by a lot of people, so you will not waste your time and effort.

Like what happened to me, see my post.
