Ranking checks: GL parameter vs geolocated proxies

    Hi,

I use geolocated proxies for my rankings, but I just finished a test to see how the GL parameter works, instead of using proxies. A little info:

    http://www.stayonsearch.com/using-googles-gl-parameter-to-beat-geo-targeting

I have set a project in Rank Tracker and added UK and Spain proxies. I did 2 different checks:

    1. Google.co.uk using UK proxies (no GL parameter, no de-personalization)
    2. Google.co.uk using Spain proxies and the GL parameter set to UK.

In both cases, results were exactly the same (10 keywords checked). I guess I need to do further testing, but I'd like to know your thoughts on this issue. If I find proxies don't matter as long as you use the GL parameter, I will buy proxies for another country, since spanish proxies are way more expensive.

    Thanks!

What foes that have to do with anything? The Keyword Tracker can already do international queries without using proxies.

Oops, my bad. Sorry! I opened this thread on the wrong forum. I thought this was about "general" keyword trackers. I just found out it's all about the keyword tracker tool.

Indeed, I was referring to Rank Tracker, from SEO Powersuite. How can I get the thread moved to the right forum?

    Thank you
