Ranking articles high in google

Ok, so I think everyone will agree that ranking your articles on the 1st page is the most important part in article marketing. But how do we achieve that? Can someone share what methods they use?

I have been stuck here for a really long time. I continuously have to write new articles in order to make more sales, and the ones that do rank high, do so for a short period of time - and that's even for very low competition keywords. All I do is backlinking by spinning the article and submitting it to other directories, with links pointing to the original article. What other methods do you guys use? Social bookmarking?

Try submitting spun articles to blogs too, using the free traffic system or something similar, and don't forget your RSS feeds along with social bookmarking. You can also create web 2.0 properties and point them to your articles as well (hubpages - if you have a high enough score, squidoo, weebly, etc.). And forum and blog commenting, of course.

If there were one method that anyone could just step by step follow and rank don't you think people would be doing it?

You are asking for the Easter Bunny to bring you golden eggs.

There can only be 10 top spots for any given phrase. It's up to you to get there.

So bookmark, backlink, article market, or do whatever. The mechanics are not as important as getting your offer in front of the right people. And without a plan you are just wasting time.

Usualy you write articles to promote your money page... So why would you like to spend a lot of effort on ranking numerous, as you said, articles high in serps?

I mean, of course it would be nice, bu still, it yould be even better to get your most important site up first...

It's always easier to rank article on some of the most popular article directories instead of your newly registered domain.

Rank the articles first and you'll transfer a lot of link juice to your own domain as the time passes.

Article's aren't the only way to get inbound links by the way, it's just a tactic.

    Here's my take:

For short term success, publish articles with EzineArticles. They'll get ranked high quickly, especially if you put some effort into building backlinks, but there will be some "leakage" due to ads placed on the site by EZA and other factors.

For long term success, build backlinks to your own landing page/blog/site. If you do the right keyword research, in six months to a year you should have some steady traffic to your own website. It will take longer to see results usually, but once you are ranking high you will be in a good place and won't have to keep continually writing articles for article directories to get traffic.

(Many do both of these approaches simultaneously).
