hey all, after the recent google update i notice that many pages of xmarks dot com are ranked very well in page 1 and 2 on search results. i have no idea why it got authority from google because basically it is just another bookmarking site. so if you are looking for a platform that will help you to move up a bit consider to tag your site there.
when you have seen the changes, have you seen it recently or after 24th April, is your site purely based on high quality content or people just bookmark their pages, but thanks for letting us know..
if you offer interesting content to your site you don't need to be afraid of google update. if you have good content and services in your website you will always be favoured after any Google update
I never had any problem with google updates. In fact they always pushed me a little upwards every time! Its the quality and speed that works.
in the long run, google penguin will benefit us all in the long run. it levels the playing field againsts link spammers and other underhanded tricks to get traffic.
I was never hit by these Google updates and I'm so happy that my hard work finally proves useful. I am happy that lots of spammy websites had to suffer from this, although I am aware that quality websites had to suffer as well... Anyway, I already use xmarks, thanks for the recommendation!
yeah, quality content goes a long way in the eyes of google however, I think the reactions from people about the new update and its inpact has been very "mixed"
Oh, bullcrap. Quality of content won't help you now. BBC, wikipedia, disney, walmart, and all of the other corporations are ranking high everywhere. Sites with the stupidest news ever like FOX.
Traffic was down for last couple of weeks but today seems it just picked up even higher by some times before the penguin update. Good to see visitors back again.
My site that has info about emceeing a wedding went from page 1 number 1 2 or 3 to page 2 obscurity after penguin update. I have about 15 pages of useful articles and free info and one sales link. The sales link is in the navigation menu - so it is on every page...do you think that hurts me more than helps me?
Not being funny.. but if it's the site I am looking at (from your description above) then I wouldn;t call that useful at all.. keyword stuffed articles aren't useful to anyone apart from (now) outdated search engine algos..
