    Website performance is good for the rankings in search engines but as well increasing backlinks from quality websites plays a major role in website rankings in search engines. Quality and unique content on website is also very important.

    yeah, Website load time is also one of most important factor for ranking well.
    But I don't understand if the load time is measured only for the website code or whole site or load time images , flash , css also.

    Although I agree that by cutting down the loading time of a particular website it can in a sense increase the performance. However, when it comes to obtaining or getting higher page rank to one's own site, the best way is to use SEO methods and strategies in doing it. It's a tough competition in terms of page ranks and increasing backlinks, and SEO can provide you a competitive advantage over the rest.
