I recently recieved a penalty for a site that had too much juice. It had a - 50 penalty for what I was never really sure but guessed it was for artifical link profile It bounced from - 50 to - 70 for my main competitive keyword It is now # 39 for this main keyword. Is this a sign of the penalty lifting I wonder?
First reference is on a non DP forum last August Then it hit quite a lot of others on here just before Xmas
Yep, right after Thanksgiving if I'm correct. Thats when it hit me. Not too sure you got hit with a penalty though, just a change in algorithim. Just my guess though. Good luck getting to the top! I'm climbing back myself, not all the way there though...
No this was a penalty Easy to check. Take 50 keyords you were ranking for and plot a graph. An algo goes up and down. Since this site was more or less top three for most I kind of had an incling after 10 keywords. I think of it as a Google Hangover. It was a good idea to knock back that tenth pint of link juice but BOY! Did I have a bad head in the morning! I have scrapped the site, which has increased in PR incidentally. It was a devil to update. If it it goes up great but shan't be visiting the link markets this Chinese New Year. Learned my lesson
