It ranks number 1 in other countries like google britain and india..etc but not even in the top 100 in the USA.. how can this be fixed??
By the subject nature of your website, I assume that Google has penalized your website. On the other hand it could just be that you don't have quality US-based links.
It's not the website on my signature sillie! That site is just for kicks.. hehe..and that ranks high on google.. like 13th right now.. and it's not even listed on the other search engines yet.. funny thing is the link from digital point to it ranks higher than the actual website.. haha the site i'm talking about is 12 years old..and actually has a PR of 4 on google.. so I don't know why it ranks so low when it comes to searches..
The importance of PR is overrated by most people. For long time, and for all major keywords, one of my websites ranked 1st with PR2, although the only competitor had PR5.
Are you searching your website using your url? www.domain.com? And yet your website is still on the 500th??? Wow.. I don't think that this is real.. Anyways, just build links using anchor text (your link, including your keyword) to authority sites.
That's just how these search engines are. They use different factors for rankings. My sites always get to number one on msn and yahoo veryquickly, but I have to really work them to get them up there on google. I think keywords in the url play a bigger factor for yahoo and msn.
as they all follow slightly diff algo to rank a website........now you might have targeted yahoo and msn that's why you are not getting rank in google
well when we target for google why yahoo and msn works good with us but when we target msn or yahoo. google doesn't improves why ?
If your website is old, so you are targeting the wrong words in Google or that Google thinks your websites is not yet of high quality. Maybe your links are very much alike. Yahoo and MSN begin raking the sites immediately after they are uploaded.
Your site i guess is penalized. Most people use Google, it won't matter if you're number 1 on alta vista if people don't use altavista at all for their searches. Try to resolve this asap, you might be losing tremendous amount of sales because of your poor ranking with Google.
