i had one website which was ranking on page 2 for one keyword recently rank of that keyword went from page 2 to page 6 and page 1 to page 3 for another keyword is this google dance or what? will my site rank get back +reps for answers
Do you have good content on your site? I've heard there is another wave of Panda. And also try to think what you've done recently and analyze your analytics. It may be just a temparal thing and the positions will get high again soon
Happened for one of my websites too, although the drop wasn't that drastic (just 7 places which some might say it's not unusual). However, it seems that since the drop (about 5 days ago) Google hasn't yet updated it's index with new content additions on my blog (happened much sooner) and the same goes with an update of the websites traffic. I hope this is only temporarily....
I think ...other site beat you in same keywords...i suggest strong your keywords...and again do some quick SEO..to gain your place again..
If you have good content and good quality backlinks to your website this may explain the big jump to PR 6.
Google dance? This usually happens with new sites in the first year. Hard to say with out knowing more about your site and it's history.
The latest minor Panda update was around 13th of Oct. If the site is new, it could definitely be Google short-term jumps. If not - are you using unpersonalized rank checker? Have you lately gotten new links to your site? Have you created some new sections of the page? In any case you should wait some time to confirm that there really has been drop in rankings (and drop by several pages cannot be explained by competitors getting stronger)
This happened to one of my websites for a particular group of keywords - used to be page 1, now I don't feature anywhere, despite the content being good. And ironically Google has decided not to penalize me for any other kind of keyword, keeping my rankings high.
If its a competitive keyword then most likely someone else has been working on the same keywords as you have. Increase your SEO campaign for those keywords you are targetting for
I have experienced the same thing....But I think it's a normal thing....Wait for few more days for further changes.
Concentrate on using good quality content and creating good quality backlinks for your site. For getting back in the previous position there have no way except this. Hope you will get back soon.
It depends on your site. It could just be dancing but it could also be google deciding that your site just isn't worth ranking and cutting you off. We need more information to give you a reasonable answer.
Do some good quality backlinks to increase the ranking in Search Engine... Quality is better than Quantity!
From what little information you have provided sounds like the dance to me. But I cannot say for sure unless you give some more information like the content on your site or the nature of the links that you have been building in these time.
If it's a Google dance it will come back up, itf it doesn't then it has been downgraded, potentially some of the sites your link was on were penalised, and that penalty was passed on to you
